Summertime and the living is easy. Summertime and the cotton is high. Next week is the official start of summer folks! This time of year is by far my fave season, and I love sharing the things I love with the people who mean the most to me. I thought I would share some of my summer date ideas I’ve been thinking of so that you too can share some lovely summer days with your love.

Go To The Beach

We are so close to so many beautiful beaches, and taking in the sun and surf is always on the top of my to do list once summer comes. A week away is always nice but often hard to do, especially since summer is prime wedding season! Spending days with my brides capturing their special moments is also pretty fun, but I’m hoping to sneak away for a little beach getaway this summer!

Make It A Day At The Carnival

The carnival isn’t just for kids. It’s for people who want to feel young at heart! It’s such a great date to walk around and enjoy each other’s company. You can play as many games as you like, or just take in the atmosphere. Crown the night with a spin on the ferris wheel. I’m excited about it already!

Escape The Heat In The Movie Theater

Summer is wonderful. Air conditioning is also wonderful. For some reason, going to the theater when it’s hot outside feels like such an escape! It’s a magical fictional world where the popcorn is buttery, you get to wear your jacket in July, and everybody lives happily ever after. Also the best movies come out in the summer right?

Camp In the Backyard

It sounds a little silly to camp when your bed is just a short walk away but it’s fun to mix things up every once in a while! Pitch a tent in the backyard, have a candlelit dinner, and sit out by a campfire. It’s an adventure without ever leaving the comfort of your own home. That’s my kind of adventure!

Volunteer For A Cause That Has Your Heart

The days are long and the time is perfect for volunteering. Did you know that you can volunteer to walk shelter dogs? Talk about a dream come true! I think volunteering together is such a great way to spend time with someone you love, and volunteering to do something awesome like walking dogs is even better. I haven’t tried this yet. This is top of my summer date idea list this year!

Wine Taste At A Local Vineyard

Who else loves wine? Everyone? Perfect! Wine season is early September but there are vineyard tours all summer long. Going to a wine tasting is such a fun activity that involves hanging out in a beautiful location, learning something new about wine and drinking wine. That is the trifecta of a fun time and the perfect summer date idea to share with your partner!
